$70,000 grant awarded to improve women's health in Ghana
Cervical cancer is the second leading cancer death for women in Ghana. New technology has made it possible to screen and treat women for cervical cancer in unserved and underserved communities.

The Rotary Clubs of Eau Claire and Accra-East raised $70,000 to purchase cervical cancer treatment devices for use in rural communities in Ghana. These devices were delivered to the Cervical Center Prevention and Training Centre at Catholic Hospital, Battor, Gahan in September 2023.

This project has the potential to treat more than 10,000 women over the next 5 years.

Club News
These are exciting times. The Rotary Club of Eau Claire now includes the former Rotary Club of Eau Claire Morning and Chippewa Valley After Hours Club Members. The merger of the Morning, Noon, and After Hours clubs bring together members dedicated to "Service Above Self." The merger makes it easier to pool resources from both clubs and focus these resources toward community projects. It also offers greater service and social opportunities for members of both clubs.

Rotary Youth Exchange
The Rotary Club of Eau Claire hosted a student from Belgium during the 2022-23 school year. Lenny arrived in late August and immediately joined the high school varsity soccer team.  See the photos below for highlights of Lenny's year in Eau Claire. Lenny shared these photos at the last club meeting he attended on June 8, 2023.

Rotary Lights Bridge

The Rotary Club of Eau Claire spearheaded the project to bring lights to the Phoenix Park Bridge in Eau Claire. What a success! The bridge shines every night and every season. Individuals and organizations can also reserve the bridge to shine in colors of their choice.
