32 Rotarians and guests enjoyed our annual Christmas Luncheon at Fanny Hill. After some punch, fellowship, and a delicious meal, we were entertained by players from the Eau Claire Children's Theatre, who sang some songs from their recent production of "Miracle on 34th Street" along with some traditional Christmas favorites. Thank you to Angela Hite for planning the event and to the Children's Theatre for the entertainment. |

44 Rotarians and guests enjoyed our annual Christmas Luncheon at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club. After some hot apple cider, fellowship, and a delicious meal, they were entertained by Northernaires from North High School, who sang a variety of traditional Christmas carols. Thank you to Angela Hite for planning the event and to the Northeraires for the entertainment. |

We gathered at the home of Heidi and Andy Fisher to welcome Kristina Skornikova, our 2009-10 exchange student. Thanks to Heidi and Andy for hosting and providing a delicious buffet. Kristina arrived on August 25 from Turzovka, Slvakia and attends Memorial High School as a senior. She is living with the Dan and Lisa Mattoon family, and in January will move in with the Fisher's. |

Tom and Jill Antarctic Expedition |

Tom Barland and his wife, Jill, toured the Antarctic Region by a 92 passenger National Geographic ship from February 7 through March 3, 2009. They visited places involved with Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ill-fated 1914 expedition, when he and his 27 men were trapped in sea ice and then on Elephant Island awaiting rescue for a total of 20 months. They also hiked the last four miles of Shackleton’s famous 26 mile climb over the South Georgia Mountains to a whaling station to secure a ship to rescue all his men. |

During their one month visit to our District 6250, the Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team from the Philippines (District 3790), was hosted by the two Eau Claire Rotary Clubs. Their visit included vocational trips, some site-seeing, and a presentation at our Monday Rotary meeting. |

65 Rotarians and guests took a break from their Monday routine to enjoy our annual Christmas Luncheon at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club. After some hot apple cider, fellowship, and a delicious meal, they were entertained by members of the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild who performed a few musical numbers from the “Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical”.

We gathered at the home of Tom and Darla McCarty to welcome our exchange student, Kevin Spinner, and to celebrate Rotary Youth Exchange. Many thanks to Tom and Darla for hosting and providing such an exquisite and delicious spread. Kevin arrived on August 25 from Soufflenheim, France and attends Memorial High School as a senior. He is living with Mike and Sara Antonson until January 2009, then will move in with Marc and Sarah Goulet. (by Robin Shih) |

Our Club's Youth Exchange Student for 2006-07 was Thea Houden-Hansen. In late July, Thea returned to her home country of Denmark. On hand to greet her was her family and our Club's Youth Exchange Counselor, Robin Shih, who happend to be in Denmark on a business trip. |
